From, big to small and international to domestic, there are a total of forty-seven fully functioning airports located in this small country.

Thirty-Two of them are airports with commercial flights while others are made for occasional use and helicopter landings.

The huge list includes an international airport (Tribhuvan International Airport), two purposed international airports (Gautam Buddha Airport and Pokhara Airport), and other domestic airports. Whereas, Forty-Seven of the airports of Neis is recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Solukhumbhu district, where Mount Everest falls, has the most number of airports (five airports) in Nepal. Solukhumbhu district also hosts Tenzing–Hillary Airport, the Lukla Airport. This airport is one of the most dangerous airports in the world and is also a gateway to the Mt. Everest.

Airports under Construction | Nepal

The number of airports in Nepal is also increasing over time. Recently, Rajbiraj airport also made into the list of commercial airports in Nepal with regular flights from and to Kathmandu. Only special landings took place before.

Firstly, five of the airports are under construction at this phase. Also, the count of airports near the Himalayan region of Nepal is increasing gradually. Have a look at the map below.
