Nepali people have their own unique calendar system. The system which they use is called Bikram Sambat or Vikram Sambat/ Era.

This day of celebrations is accompanied by a public holiday. Business, Schools are also closed on this occasion.

In fact, the first month of Nepalese Calander, “Baisakh” is when the academic year starts for most of the grades.
